Frequent Question: Will you meet me in-person?

Answer: Yes. I will meet with you at your home or place of business.

Frequent Question: What do I need to be eligible to enroll in a Medicare Advantage Plan or a Medicare Supplement Plan?

Answer: You will need to be enrolled in BOTH Medicare Parts A and B before you can enroll in a Medicare Advantage Plan or a Medicare Supplement Plan. After enrolling in Parts A or B, you will receive a red, white and blue Medicare Card showing the effective date for each Part. There will also be a serial number on the card, which will be your Medicare Identification Number going forward.

Frequent Question: I am a Veteran with my prescriptions covered by the Veterans Administration (VA). Can I keep my VA prescription coverage with Medicare?

Answer: Yes, you can combine prescription drug coverage through the VA with a Medicare Advantage Plan that has no drug coverage, or a Medicare Supplement Plan. That said, a prescription written by a VA-doctor must be filled at a VA-Pharmacy while a prescription written by a civilian doctor cannot be filled at a VA-Pharmacy.

Frequent Question: Are there penalties if I don’t sign up for Part D prescription drug coverage after I reach the age of eligibility?

Answer: It depends. There are no Part D penalties if you can prove creditable drug coverage elsewhere, such as employer group coverage or through the VA (or TRICARE).

Frequent Question: Does a Medicare Supplement Plan include prescription drug coverage?

Answer: The short answer is “No”. It’s important to understand the difference between a Medicare “Advantage” Plan and a Medicare “Supplement” Plan, as they are NOT the same thing. A Medicare “Advantage” Plan can include prescription drug coverage whereas a Medicare “Supplement” Plan does not. A separate Prescription Drug Plan is needed with a Medicare “Supplement” Plan.
